Menus
What other people see
A menu is the public face of your book. It carries enough for someone to choose a dish and know it will not hurt them, and nothing at all that would let them cook it.
A menu shows
- The name of the dish
- What it is safe for: dairy, nuts, gluten, and the rest
- A plain ingredient list, with no amounts
- Whatever note you want to attach
- Your price, if you choose to show one
A menu never shows
- Quantities and measurements
- Cooking instructions
- What the dish costs you to make
- Your margin
- Everything else in your book
Stage 5 of 8
Coming later: building a menu from your recipes, the margin calculator that turns a food cost into a selling price, and a shareable web link that opens beautifully for someone who has never heard of Receptary.
